Consent: HIV Non-Disclosure and Sexual Assault Law Toronto Screening

Consent

Consent:  HIV non-disclosure and sexual assault law is at its heart a filmed conversation — a conversation among a group of feminists about a serious, urgent and challenging legal issue. By documenting that conversation, Consent ignites new dialogues, debates and actions.

We invite you to join the Consent conversation in Toronto, at the Jackman Hall in the Art Gallery of Ontario, on Thursday, November 26, at 7:00 p.m. Following the film screening, a roster of experts will engage in a dialogue about the film and the issue in an onstage salon. The discussants include:

Alison Symington, Co-director of Research & Advocacy at the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network, and co-producer of Consent;

Alison Duke, Award-winning independent filmmaker and multimedia artist at Goldelox Productions, and producer and director of Consent

Farrah Khan, Counsellor, advocate, artist, and the new Coordinator of Sexual Violence Education & Support at Ryerson University;

Muluba Habanyama, a student, journalist and activist;

Kim Dolan, Executive Director of Peterborough AIDS Resource Network (PARN); and

Jean McDonald, Executive Director of Maggie’s — Toronto Sex Worker Action Project.

Keep the conversation going afterwards and join us for drinks across the street at Art Square Café (334 Dundas Street West). RSVP is required to reserve your free spot at the film and salon discussion (see below).
